Supreme champion named at inaugural Future Food Awards 2019

Nourish3d triumphed as Supreme Champion at the Awards held on 3rd October 2019 at the Bread & Jam Festival

Nourish3d, a truly outstanding innovation marrying 3D printing technology which can combine 27 different active ingredients into personalised nutritional snacks.  The consumer can choose their preferred vitamins or supplements or can complete a health questionnaire for these to be determined and the technology creates a small individually packaged snack, which allows the active ingredients to coexist without destroying each other to enhance body absorption.

Caitlin Stanley, head of branding at Nourish3d, said of the win:It feels amazing, it feels awesome.  The other brands that were pitching today were phenomenal, there was so much innovation and really cool ideas.  The awards are amazing how they recognise all this new talent and all the innovative concepts that are coming out on the market now, as well as recognising start-ups which is so important as start-up culture is so difficult. For these awards to see all the hard work that goes into it is really valuable.”

John Stapleton co-founder, Little Dish and The New Covent Garden Soup Company who was a judge at the awards said: “Nourish3d, among other things, is at the forefront of the consumer need that is coming around the corner, which is personalisation. It's all about providing good quality vitamins and supplementation compared to a lot of what is on the market right now.

You've got a very strong entrepreneur who really knows what they are doing, and when you invest in businesses or when you look at opportunities, it's all about the product and the person. Personalisation is the future and Nourish3d is way ahead of the game in terms of being able to deliver.”

The Future Food Awards celebrate trailblazing new food companies and highlight the ‘best of the best’ in British food and drink.

The 2019 Future Food Awards finals took place at the Bread & Jam Festival, on Thursday 3rd October 2019, at the iconic 116 Pall Mall, London, the home of the Institute of Directors.

This year’s finalists were selected from 400 high-calibre entries across nine different categories, including Farm to Fork, Young Producer, Drink Innovation, Mission Driven and Food Tech Innovation.

Category winners pitched to a panel of judges boasting legendary founders and industry experts, including Renee Elliott, founder of Planet Organic, and John Stapleton, founder of New Covent Garden Soup Co and Little Dish, at the Festival, vying for the accolade of being named Supreme Champion.

Renée Elliott, founder, Planet Organic and Founder, Beluga Bean commenting on Supreme Champion Nourish3d said: “It is a blow-your-head off idea that wraps up good nutrition, future forward thinking around food and absorbability, best practice and tech all in one beautiful, tasty nugget.”

The Future Food Awards, which will return in 2020, are the brainchild of Holly Shackleton, editor of Speciality Food – the biggest trade magazine in the fine food sector – and Sue Nelson, founder of The FoodTalk Show – a dedicated podcast enjoyed around the world.

Nelson said: “The quality of this year's finalists has been astounding, and the Awards have been a massive success, giving new food and drink businesses ranging from small-scale producers to technology-driven innovators a chance to shine. We are looking forward to bringing back the Awards next year.”

The Bread & Jam Festival, where the Awards were held, is an annual two-day conference and bootcamp for emerging and scaling food and drink brands, bringing together food and drink founders and innovators, investors, retailers, media and industry leaders.
